Social Responsibility

Today, every company, regardless of its industry or form of ownership, must recognize that one of the main principles of its dynamic development is a careful consideration of society’s interests, contributing to the socio-economic development of the region, creating and maintaining decent working conditions, and nurturing and developing the domestic workforce.

JSC “TURGAI-PETROLEUM” is today recognized as one of the leading employers in the Kyzylorda region. In its development, the company follows the above principle by providing competitive working conditions, ensuring social protection, and offering opportunities for employees to realize and utilize their potential, with a focus on achieving the best results.

The company’s efforts in strengthening social partnerships, building labor relations, and enhancing social engagement were recognized in 2009 with the National “Paryz” Award. This recognition reflected the results of 15 years of the company’s activities, during which a clear and well-founded socially responsible policy was developed—one that meets the realities of the time and contributes to the development of human capital both within the company and in the region as a whole.

Relations with personnel are built on the following principles:

  1. Employee involvement in the company’s successes and achievements;

  2. Responsibility for fulfilling one’s duties and achieving results;

  3. Continuity of knowledge, experience, and traditions.

We recognize that our employees are the human capital of both the country and the company, a highly productive factor driving the development of the economy, society, and families. This capital provides long-term competitive advantages for the company and ensures the maintenance of its leadership position in the industry. Therefore, in accordance with the third principle, the company’s human capital is primarily developed through investments in improving professional knowledge and skills, career development, and employee growth. This is implemented through a system of continuous learning and a talent reserve program—including training and preparation of Kazakh specialists, professional development and retraining, and higher education—amounting to approximately KZT 2.7 billion since the company’s inception.

JSC “TURGAI-PETROLEUM” also invests in one of the key areas of external social responsibility: supporting the region’s youth in obtaining quality education and fostering domestic human capital.

Currently, more than 100 students are studying at leading higher and secondary-specialized institutions in Kazakhstan and abroad. The company successfully implements programs to support students from large and low-income families, orphans, and persons with disabilities who pursue studies in pedagogy, medicine, engineering, and oil & gas specialties.

Today, business entities are expected to do everything possible to maximize benefits for the largest number of people. Following this principle, JSC “TURGAI-PETROLEUM” has always actively participated in addressing the social challenges of the Kyzylorda region.

Over the years, the company has developed a clear understanding that corporate social responsibility should go beyond charity. We speak of targeted social investments aimed at addressing critical issues both internally and externally.

The company’s actions have strategic importance for the development of the entire regional economy, and social responsibility has become a core part of the corporate philosophy and culture, forming human capital not only within the company and Kyzylorda region but also across the Republic of Kazakhstan.

JSC “TURGAI-PETROLEUM” has never stood aside from participating in the resolution of social and environmental challenges in the region. The company is always among the first to respond, providing voluntary assistance in areas affecting spiritual and physical well-being, including support for talents in culture, sports, and science. The company closely cooperates with regional and city organizations, NGOs, and institutions that maintain regular contact with vulnerable populations, such as associations supporting people with disabilities, educational, sports, and medical institutions, as well as orphanages and children’s homes.

Over the years, the company has allocated a total of KZT 4.5 billion for the region’s social and charitable needs.
