Sarkytbayev Marat Karabekovich

Sarkytbayev Marat Karabekovich has over 30 years of management experience in the industrial, oil and gas, and mining sectors of Kazakhstan’s economy.

He began his career in 1992 in the entrepreneurial sector. From 1996 to 1998, he served as General Director of JSC «ARALTUZ».

From 1998 to 1999, he worked at the National Company «Kazakhoil» as Director of the Atyrau Representative Office. During this period, he also chaired the Boards of Directors of key industry enterprises, including JSC «Atyrau Refinery» (ANPZ), JSC «Embamunaigas», and JSC «Tengizmunaygaz».

In 1999–2000, he held the position of Chairman of the Defense Industry Committee under the Ministry of Energy, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From 2001 to 2004, he headed the Board of Directors of the oil company JSC «Caspineft TME».

From 2001 to 2011, he was General Director of the mining company «Shalkiya Zinc».

From 2015 to 2024, he served as General Director of LLP «Kaztemir Iron».

In October 2024, he was appointed General Director of JSC «TURGAI-PETROLEUM».

Sarkytbayev Marat Karabekovich received specialized technical and management education from leading institutions in Russia and the USA.

In 1991, he graduated from the Moscow State Institute of Applied Biotechnology with a degree in engineering technology, which provided a solid foundation for understanding production processes, managing industrial facilities, and implementing technological solutions.

In 2007, he completed an MBA program at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) in Moscow. This program helped him develop strong managerial skills, expand strategic thinking, and enhance expertise in corporate governance, finance, and economics.

In 2015, he earned a Master of Management degree from Cambridge College (Boston, USA), completing an international program focused on modern approaches to company management, leadership, innovation, and global business development.

Married, father of three children.
